Is the YWCA an organization with a religious mission?

No.  The Mission of the YWCA is to empower women and girls and to eliminate racism.  It can best be described as an agency with a Mission of social justice.


Can only females join YWCA Carlisle?

While YWCA Carlisle is managed by an all female Board of Directors, virtually all YW programs and services are open to men and women, boys and girls.  The YWCA is a women's membership movement.  Anyone who believes in our mission and wants to help eliminate racism and empower women and girls is welcome to join our cause.


Does YWCA Carlisle have a fitness center?

We do not have a fitness center, but we do offer fitness and wellness programs for adults. Check out what’s currently being offered at Adult/Wellness


Does YWCA Carlisle have a pool?

No, we do not have a pool.



Does YWCA Carlisle have a summer camp program for school-age children?

Yes, we do have a summer camp program. Look for more details under Youth/Young Wonders.



Does YWCA Carlisle have a daycare facility?

No, we do not provide daily childcare, but we do have preschool programs for ages 2 through PreK. Look for more information under Preschool.



Is YWCA Carlisle affiliated with the Carlisle Family YMCA?

No, we are two separate entities both serving the Carlisle area.



Does United Way of Carlisle & Cumberland County support YWCA Carlisle?

Yes, we greatly appreciate the support that many of our programs receive from United Way of Carlisle & Cumberland County.



Is Sexual Assault/Rape Crisis Services of Cumberland County a separate entity within YWCA Carlisle?

No, YWCA Carlisle is responsible for the operations of the hotline and the services provided.
