YWCA preschool programs focus on children’s social development and embody the ideals of the mission. We encourage children to communicate peacefully and to embrace diversity and equality. The staff’s goal is to provide a positive atmosphere where children can experience success at their own levels.

We are happy to welcome you and your children to the YWCA’s Preschool programs. Our purpose is to support your family by providing a quality preschool education. We try to meet individual needs and to encourage your children to develop a positive self concept. Teachers plan activities which will enhance children’s development in all areas and increase their self esteem.

YW Preschool programs aim to provide children with a stimulating atmosphere in which they can explore a new world. We attempt to make the transition from home to school a secure and happy one for your children and to provide a variety of experiences in which children learn to interact with other children, listen to and follow directions, share, take turns, and express themselves in a variety of ways. We are also aware of the skills needed for kindergarten and help prepare children for that experience. We work with kindergarten teachers in all the neighboring school districts to assure continuity.
